BLURB:
When Liam McMartin calls Cowboy Wanted, he just wants to hire a cowboy to take him to an event. Objective? To make his ex-husband Sawyer Canton insanely jealous. He and Sawyer just couldn’t make things work, but they see each other all the time to exchange their two daughters, and Liam wants Sawyer to believe he’s doing better with this whole divorce thing than he really is.
Sawyer knows he screwed up badly with Liam. Bad enough that his husband, who he still loves, filed for divorce and got a condo in town. He loses it when he thinks Liam is dating someone else, but maybe that’s the chance he needs to open up a line of communication with his ex and try to make up for what they lost. Their daughters would love to have both dads in the same place all the time as well. But work and life are always right there, trying to come between them. Can Sawyer convince Liam to give him a second chance?
REVIEW:
I love Tom and Koby from Cowboy Wanted, LLC. They have created a business to help cowboys find work and those in need of help a place to reach out. But sometimes I think those two are secret matchmakers on the side 😉 I loved this new job they put together and the outcome that happened.
Liam McMartin doesn’t know what to do. He is suddenly invited to the fancy Cattleman’s Ball. It will provide great networking for his new architect firm that he has open by himself after Eric, his less than scrupulous business partner, and him parted ways. But he doesn’t want to be pathetic and go stag when he knows that his ex-husband Sawyer Canton will be going also. And their girls already told him daddy was taking a date. So he calls Cowboy Wanted, LLC and puts in an order for “Cowboy needed for escort to Cattleman’s Ball. Must be between twenty-five and thirty-five, handsome, well-dressed, intelligent enough to fool my ex into thinking I’d date him, and not well-known in the area.” to make his ex jealous. Well Terry Logan fit the bill a bit too perfectly and Sawyer saw red when they were dancing at the ball together. But can Liam ever trust Sawyer again when he believed the lies so easily before?
I do love a second chance and this one was excellent. Liam’s ex-business partner was quite the homophobic price of trash. And the levels he stooped to to try and ruin Liam because he was also a shady architect was unbelievable. But this was a story of finally learning to communicate because that entire family suffered because of those two men, Liam and Sawyer’s, lack of talking. Sawyer’s jumping to conclusions about lies and Liam’s failure to speak out on things, especially Sawyer’s mother, let everything fall apart. But those sweet girls pushes helped pave the way for the road back home for this sweet family.
I did like how both men’s dates seemed to gravitate to each other and hope there comes a story down the road for them too. And that Tom and Koby keep finding the right fit for cowboys with Cowboy Wanted LLC!
