REVIEW:
this is my favourite kind of Cara Dee book.. it builds slowly letting you live in the world she builds for her characters, giving you ample time to get to know them, their connections forming slowly as the plot layers evolve. There is a ton going on, personally both Beckett and Leighton deal with significant loss, abrupt shifts in their circumstances but found family underlines their experiences a lot.
I loved both Beckett and Leighton and their dynamic sneaks up on you.. it’s phenomenal. The sexual awakening is brilliantly done! While this is the best kind of simmering building pining slow burn it is incinerating and scorching hot when it catches fire. I can’t wait for the next book in this series and what happens with Bo and Leighton and everyone next. Omg that cliffie is killing me.. it’s a short wait but I don’t know if I’m going to survive.
I have to also say that the food in Cara Dee’s books always makes me hungry, it sounds so yum!
Loved Alex and the mentions of the Quinns (specially Darius 🫠) and Loved seeing the twins again.
