Can I tame the beast?
Tate Goodman is sweet in a bumbling adorkable way, but something dangerous lurks inside him. Something desperate to get out.
This is my specialty. I’m a sixty-five-million-year-old Troodon shifter known as The Dino Whisperer, and Tate is my latest assignment. I’ve been alone for eons, and I no longer believe in love or happily ever after. So why am I distracted by Tate’s soulful brown eyes and shy smiles? And don’t get me started on those thick thighs. I want him to manhandle me. To unleash his beast so we can play. But others have wounded Tate and taken advantage of his sweet nature. Something I would never do.
We’ve barely started our training when a sassy pirate whisks us away to the lair of a dino crime-boss-wannabe. Tate has something he wants. Something that could change the dinosaur world forever.
The Dino Whisperer is an MM paranormal romance in a world where humans can shift into dinosaurs and a wounded hero and sassy tailor team up against dangerous mobsters, including a feisty pirate. With a huge size difference and only one bed, the tension between Tate and Austyn is explosive. This is the second book in The Dino Uprising, my dino shifter trilogy that begins with The Bone Doctor. If you love dino books with a bit of spice, humor, and memorable characters, these books are for you!
REVIEW:
Oh My, this one does not disappoint. Disclaimer: This is book two of the three book series and you need to read book one, to be caught up on all the background information for this series. This story does feature a different couple as the main characters, Tate and Austyn.
The worldbuilding continues to be incredible in this series. We’ve moved to the wilds of Idaho for this one and I can’t imagine a better backdrop. From the hidden Dinosaur world to the small town in Idaho, it brings you into this world seamlessly and keeps you enthralled all the way till the end.
Once again DK, had knocked the character development out of the park. You can really feel the sweetness of Tate and the protective streak of Austyn. We also have my favorite pirate returning in this story and we get see even more of his character development. Her character develop is really top notch.
As I have come to expect from DK, this story is brilliantly woven tapestry of words. We get to experience all the highs and lows of the first book, with the added dimension of these characters fighting for their lives. She had incorporated the action-adventure aspect to mesh seamlessly with the romance component of this one. But also manages to bring the sassy as well.
A man—barely four feet tall and dressed like a pirate—jumps from the sales counter of my store, brandishing a swashbuckling sword in one hand and a wad of hundred-dollar bills in the other, making me wish I grabbed my gun instead of my knife. Wisps of black tendrils escape from his hair tie as his equally dark eyes glitter with excitement. “Whatcha gonna do with that? Eh?”
My knife swishes through the air, stabs his stupid garish hat, and pins it to the wooden accent wall behind him. “You woke me from a good dream, Walter. Come back when it’s daylight.”
“That’s me favorite hat, jackass,” he says, baring his overly white teeth. Then he chuckles, sheathes his sword, and starts counting out the cash.
A fantastic addition to The Dino Uprising trilogy. I highly recommend this second book in the series. So much so that you really should run to your favorite eBook purchasing site and grab this one up. Don’t forget, you need to have read book one before engaging in this second book. I can’t wait to see how DK wraps up this series.
Til next time…
